Scalp Cooling Financial Assistance

How to Apply for Financial Assistance

Hope for Hair has partnered with HairToStay to assist in the vetting of patients who apply for financial assistance for cold capping. Hope for Hair will provide financial assistance through a donor targeted fund for North Carolina residents looking to use cold caps (manual or machine) to prevent chemotherapy-induced hair loss. Because we are a small non-profit organization with limited funds available, we can only provide a one-time assistance based on income earned at or below 400% federal poverty level. The maximum subsidy amount awarded to recipients is $1500 to assist with costs incurred to use cold cap therapy.

Who Qualifies for a Subsidy?

To be eligible for a subsidy through Hope for Hair’s donor targeted fund, you must:

  • Be a chemotherapy patient diagnosed with a solid tumor cancer.
  • Be a full-time resident of, and receiving treatment in a medical facility in, the state of North Carolina.
  • Demonstrate financial need for assistance.

If at any time during your treatment you apply for, plan to apply for or receive any other outside financial assistance for your scalp cooling treatments, you must identify those sources in the appropriate section of this application or inform us if your application has already been approved. Receipt of other financial support may impact your ability to qualify for all or part of a Hope for Hair subsidy. Funds provided by family members or friends or fee discounts made available by the scalp cooling suppliers specifically to Hope for Hair approved patients need not be identified.

IMPORTANT: We do not subsidize scalp cooling treatment expenses incurred prior to your application being approved, only expenses incurred once your subsidy has been formally approved.
